Fire Devil Mask

The ”Ginidal Raksha mask” also known as the fire devil mask represents the emotion “anger” which is why the main colors that you prominently see are red, yellow and orange. The bulging eyes and protruding tongue is meant to symbolize the various types of demons.

These Raksha masks are also the final aspect of the Kolam Ritual and they are used as a form of tribute to the Rakshasas, a race that once ruled ancient Sri Lanka. It is also believed that the possession of these masks will attract good fortune while warding off the bad.

It is believed that keeping this mask ensures Good fortune at home.
